About Gaibandha District:-
Gaibandha is one of the districts of Northern
Bangladesh. It is a part of the Rangpur Division.
Gaibandha was
established in 1875. Gaibandha sub-division was
upgraded into a district on 15 February, 1984. The
literacy rate is 61.9%.
Geography of gaibandha:-
Gaibandha has a total area of 2179.27 square
kilometers. It has boundaries with Kurigram and
Rangpur to the north, Bogra district to the south,
Dinajpur and Rangpur district to the west, and
Jamalpur and Kurigram district to the east and the
Brahmaputra river to the east.
The Gaibandha district consists of 7 upazilas, 3
municipalities, 82 union parishads, and 1249
villages. The upazillas under this district are:
Fulchhari, Gaibandha Sadar, Gobindaganj,
Palashbari, Sadullapur, Saghata and Sundarganj.
